Jonathan P. Beck has a long professional history of focusing on both the transactional and litigation sides of real estate law, corporate and general business law, and estate planning in the St. Louis area.
Mr. Beck started his legal career as an associate at Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, practicing in the corporate and litigation departments with an emphasis on real estate, lending, and transactional work. His interests in non-profits began as a staff attorney for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation. In this position, he handled landlord and tenant litigation matters before accepting a position as a staff attorney at UAW Legal Services Plan. At UAW, Mr. Beck handled all aspects of the high volume and varied litigation issues of a prepaid legal services organization, primarily in the areas of real estate and consumer law.
Prior to co-founding Beck Simmons LLC in 2009, Mr. Beck established a history of legal entrepreneurship. He founded his first general practice law firm, Beck & Cody LC, in St. Louis in 2003 and in 2006 established his solo practice, The Law Offices of Jonathan P. Beck, that focused primarily on real estate law, business law, and civil litigation.
Mr. Beck graduated, cum laude, from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2000, where he was an Articles Editor for the Southern Illinois University Law Journal and an Order of the Barristers member. He received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Philosophy and Political Science from Indiana University. Mr. Beck was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2000 and to the Illinois Bar in 2001.
Following a strong call to give back to the community, Mr. Beck has served as a board member for several non-profit organizations including BUILD St. Louis, Gateway Pet Guardians, Loosen the Leash, and Fair Shares. He is a competitive swimmer, triathlete, and musician who enjoys spending time with his son, family, and friends.
